As part of our ongoing spotlight series, we’re profiling colleagues who inspire us.

Our strategists are the architects of each project’s success, helping our clients answer the pivotal questions of ‘why are we doing this?’ and ‘how will we get there?’ through research, analysis, and insights.

What does a typical day look like for you?

A typical day for me can vary quite a bit. Some days are very focused, where I dive into research and develop solutions like sitemaps and wireframes.

Other days are more collaborative, filled with workshops and close work with the design team on UX/UI. That’s what I love about this role—it’s always changing, and it never gets boring

How did you get into strategy?

I got into strategy during university while working at Policy Lab in the Cabinet Office of the British Government.

Just a week into my time there, COVID-19 hit, and I witnessed first hand how design strategy could have a huge impact on experiences, individuals, and communities. That experience really inspired me to develop my skills further and pursue a career in strategy, focusing on psychological and behavioural approaches to design

What’s the best thing about working with Athlon?

The best part of working with Athlon is the perfect blend of support and challenge. We’re given the resources to succeed while being encouraged to tackle new projects and grow. It’s a dynamic environment that promotes both personal and professional development.

“Bravest think I’ve done?

Travel to Japan alone at the age of 16 for an exchange program. I lived with a family who didn’t speak English for two weeks!”

— Phoebe Lewis, Strategist

Career highlight so far?

Since I’m still early in my career, every new project launch feels like a big highlight.

It’s incredibly satisfying to see my ideas and work evolve into tangible solutions that positively impact the brand and its customers. I especially love projects where I can see environmental or societal changes that align with my own values. Contributing to initiatives that make a positive difference in the world adds an extra layer of fulfilment to my work.

What do you geek out on?

New York Times games…particularly Connections….every morning!!

What do you get up to when you’re not plugged in?

When I’m not plugged in, I enjoy staying active with running and yoga. I like to experiment with cooking. Getting away from my screen helps me relax and recharge.

What would your superpower be?

I am convinced being able to freeze time is the best superpower you could have.

Starting to rain? Freeze time and find a dry spot. Running late for a meeting? Freeze time and get there on time. Have to answer a tough question? Take all the time you need to think about an answer. Want to live life to the max? Freeze time every now and then to experience everything the world has to offer without having to rush things.

Working at Athlon means joining a team of people who want to create work that improves modern living. Do your best work here.
