As part of our ongoing spotlight series, we’re profiling colleagues who inspire us.
Our project managers are the secret sauce that make our projects run like a well-oiled machine.
They coordinate with our designers and engineers, making sure every detail is accounted for – all while keeping clients in the loop throughout it all.
What does a typical day look like for you?
Every day is different for me which keeps it interesting. I am the link between the client and our team, ensuring that things run smoothly – on time and on budget. I spend a lot of time on project review calls where we discuss where we are at and what’s coming up next, as well as reviewing design and engineering progress. When i’m not coordinating with clients, I’ll be helping to put together new client proposals and detailing out the scope future of work.
How did you get into project management?
I started as an intern within a content marketing agency. Getting a taste for agency life, I moved into Account Management at a digital marketing agency, where I managed digital projects. I really enjoyed the project management aspect of the role, so when the role at Athlon came up, I knew it was the perfect next move for me.
What’s the best thing about working with Athlon?
Great team, company culture and cool projects and clients! Although we mostly work remotely, the team is super close. Athlon organises quarterly trips where we get together for a bit of team building and celebrate the wins from the last quarter. There is always a prize for the team star of the month – the last one was flying lessons!
What inspires you?
My amazing team who are incredible at what they do. There is so much talent!
The bravest thing I done? Mountain biking down death road in Bolivia “the world’s most dangerous road” Equally terrifying and exhilarating!
— Shivani Shah, Project Manager
