As a pioneer in this space, E1 Series needed to captivate and entice sports fans.
Athlon was appointed to design an engaging website, that would both launch the brand to the world and embrace a surging trend in “Sportainment”.
With race teams led by Tom Brady, Will Smith, and Rafa Nadal, the E1 Series is amplifying Britain’s reputation in popular sporting culture.
The championship not only represents cutting-edge sports entertainment but is also steadfastly committed to healing our coastal waters and ecosystems for present and future generations.
Our approach
We fully embraced the concept of ‘Sportainment’, with a focus on appealing to the hard-to-engage gen Z audience.
We wanted to embody a media-rich digital streaming experience, drawing inspiration from digital giants like Netflix to develop immersive and engaging content while leveraging the brand’s fluid and interactive nature.

How we embraced innovation
Our aim was to create an immersive experience that would draw users in and make them feel part of the high-octane action.
The website was designed around rich assets and interactive elements that mirror the excitement of the racing events.
One of the standout features is the ‘Meet the Racebird’ section, where users can explore the innovative design of the world’s first electrified powerboat. This feature includes a 3D livery customisation tool, allowing fans to personalise their view and feel a deeper connection to the sport.
How we crafted an interactive experience
Our design philosophy centred on reflecting the fluidity and agility of the race boats, achieved through a sleek and responsive user interface.
The platform is a seamless blend of design, functionality, and interactivity.
Each element, from the layout to the interactive features, was designed to reinforce E1’s brand identity and deliver a compelling user experience.
Motion was incorporated throughout the website to give it a gamified feel, effectively merging the realms of sport and entertainment.
Fans have the opportunity to experience the RaceBird like never before.
The ability to switch between different perspectives—viewing the race from the pilot’s perspective, the exterior, and even the crowd’s viewpoint—enhances the sense of immersion.

Since launching, the new E1 Series website has exceeded its objectives.
The website has attracted 450,000 visitors, generating global attention and 1,200+ backlinks from sources that include major sports and entertainment news outlets.
